Angier,
There are three phases of joyful noise making in a Lancair.
You are now experiencing Phase One.
Phase Two of joyful noise making is to squeak only the mains and hold the nose off until it is too slow to squeak.
Phase Three is to touch down so softly that the wheels spin up over a long enough period as to produce no squeak at all. This truly rare pinnacle of noise making is also known as "The Sound of Silence"
