Whoever fabricated the seatback support structure in this = way has severely compromised the integrity of the structure by making = this cut=85.. That rod should pass through an oval opening which is just large enough = to accommodate the fore and aft movement of the rod. That slot should = not run all the way to the rear=20 of the support. I suppose that if you only weigh 10lbs, this would not = be an issue. I don=92t know about you, but each time I climb into 4ZQ, I = sit (briefly) on that support structure and would not want to see it give way beneath me=85.
