I measured my gas strut force today using the Redneck Method: A scale, a concrete block, and a bottle jack.I set the block and the jack on the scale, zeroed it out, then pumped up the jack until the gas strut compressed. Voilǻ! I also used the concrete block and jack to compress the gas strut in order to re-pin it.
