Just a short note to send my heartfelt sympathies to Hal Woodruff after his
landing incident.  As someone who has experienced serious damage on the
runway and the resultant year-long effort of repairing a brand new LNC2 I
know exactly what he feels.  However, I came to learn in time that the most
important thing was that I had built the aircraft with sufficient care (and
Lance had designed it with sufficient structural integrity) that no
post-crash event led to injury or loss of life.  This is THE MOST IMPORTANT
positive result that could be expected from any aircraft incident.  What we
all do by flying high performance aircraft like the Lancair is accept a
level of personal risk which is much higher than others with less demanding
interests.  Therefore Hal is to be congratulated on surviving the incident
so well, communicating his experience to the rest of us and, most
importantly, not losing his will to continue the passion for aviation.

All the best from the UK,

Michael
