Grease and Blitz,

Stop biting your fingers -- Approach that uncontrolled field at pattern altitude for a straight-in.  You can see those large slow airplanes, but they can't see you.  Call often, turn on the strobes.  Try a low approach with a break at the threshold.  Get out of everone's way as soon as possible. Less exposure = Less risk.
