This would work because SmartMedia cards don=92t have ware leveling=20 code like every other solid state mem device. > give me access to reformatting whatever is in the D: drive? just because a tiny part of the card with directory information is readable doesn=92t mean there aren=92t some holes in the data portion of the card. also, hardware does go bad, I have seen some SmartMedia readers in CFS go bad, in fact one of mine requires a reset after boot (two finger salute) to reset the reader to recognize a SmartMedia card.
