Hi Colyn –

Yes, there is more vibration. However, I found this in the Hartzell Propeller owner’s manual

(3) Hartzell Propeller Inc. recommends that new or newly overhauled propellers be lubricated after the first one or two hours of operation because centrifugal loads will pack and redistribute grease, which may result in a propeller imbalance. Redistribution of grease may also result in voids in the blade bearing area where moisture can collect.

I still need to regrease the hub and dynamically balance the engine/prop combination. I’m off to Florida tomorrow for vacation so it will have to wait until I return. I’ll keep you posted.

Happy Holidays,

Adam Molny

Adam,

glad you got your plane back.  This would be great stuff to have in a buyer's kit.

Curious if you notice any vibration difference between the Hartzell metal prop and the old one.

Colyn
