I have a B and C  alternator on my vacuum pump pad that drives the low Load B buss in my Lancair IV with I-550 and have had no noise problems at all.  It is controlled by the B and  C linear voltage regulator independent of the A (main) buss which is driven by the standard alternator, also with a B and C linear controller.  No problems.
