I got that point. I am not in favor of surveillance without probable cause.

And the effectiveness of the "War on Drugs" is of course another interesting topic. Based on the street price of many drugs, our efforts don't seem to be denting the supply. And if a guy wants to smoke some dope, I don't favor throwing him in jail at a cost of $40,000 + per year year to the taxpayers.

Just trying to inject some levity into the situation.

Uh, not to miss the point - the DHS, like the NSA and telephones, is monitoring every flight - without any basis more than suspicion of a future crime. Hey, it's a free country and even the DHS can fly wherever it wants - even if that means following you.

Just think of all the LSA cross-country flights that are suspicious - flying low and stopping at "small" airports.

And BTW, I wonder how many millions (billions?) of dollars did we have to borrow from China to capture this guy and his 250 lbs of marijuana?
