I assume you mean “Pete.”

Yes, I have -13.

No material improvements that I have noticed.  It seems to function just fine.  No problems noted after about 2 months of use.

I press the config softkey after each menu upload is configured.  I believe that stores the config variables to a metadata file that is referenced by other installs, but I don’t know for sure.  I don’t know the effect of not pressing it each time, but that is what I read and that is what I do.

Some updates require restoring the fuel tank calibration data and some don’t.  To be on the safe side, I just do it each time.

Cable DB loss is entered for the GDL69 (XM) and GTS800(traffic) units.  You also have to specify the antenna type for each.

Hi Jack,

-Do you have -13 on your G900x?

-What were the material improvements (if you do)

-do you push the "config" softkey after each menu page? I don't, but I'm not sure what that does.

-I also don't "restore the fuel tank calibration settings", and don't understand how cable db losses fit in exactly.

-most importantly, does -13 work???

I did my own upgrade to -10, -11, and -13.  Just follow the menu structure in order, and press the save config softkey after each menu page load completes.  It will take about 2-3 hours, so have ground power connected.  There should be a document on your garmin FTP site that has the instructions.  Don’t skip any steps.

Make sure to restore your fuel tank calibration settings.

I put together a cheat sheet that lists all of my specific settings (such as cable DB losses, fuel flow factors, etc.) so you will be sure to change them during the update.  I would share it, but it is very specific to my setup that it won’t do you any good.

I have downloaded the latest software ...

Has anyone done an upgrade on their own??? How easy was it????

I am many miles from the nearest Garmin Dealer and I am afraid to do the upgrade without support ...

Any words of wisdom????

Thanks in advance .... Alan
