Strippers that cut insulation (with steel jaws) then pull the insulation from the wire should never be used in aircraft. A small nick will eventually be the point of fracture in copper due to the vibrations of aircraft. What to do? Use electric strippers that cause no nicks. It didn't show up for about 300 hours until it started intermittently shorting for about 1 minute then it would be OK for hours. Mucho time checking/testing went into that one.
