Maybe the flow between the wing and the flap will remove foam tape too, I will report back. I filled the lower wing trailing edge with micro leaving about 1/16" gap with the flaps up after paint. I have more fore/aft play in the flap up position than I like too. I hope the foam tape will address that. The Reno racers tape the top and bottom of flaps (or eliminate flaps and brackets) then do no flap takeoffs and landings. Drag reduction is such a win-win-win with more speed, range and fuel savings we should work it for all its worth. Steve .
