I have vivid memories of dropping off to sleep over Nevada resting in the ri=
ght boom 'couch' during a training flight in the great KC135 from Fairchild,=
 WA to Tinker AFB.  What a way to fly! We had no tanker fuel, took off like a=
 rocket making the trip in just over two hours in 1957.

After boarding and seated in the side mounted 'canvas' row the loadmaster sa=
ys, "I  know you guys are used to hearing the usual=20
safety briefing but this baby can fly on one engine and we have three to spa=
re.  Plus we only have a light load of fuel.  Just sit back and enjoy the fl=
ight".  And enjoy the flight we did!

Great to hear they will remain airborne for another 60 years or so.
