Hey LML gang,

I wish we’d noticed the close fit with the Legacy’s IO-550 oil drain and the landing gear fittings before our engine was put on the engine mount.  For people with the stock setup, how do you drain the oil without making a mess?

Mike Mahar in Ohio will modify your oil drain nut with this 45 degree spout that gets around the interference – see photo below. 

But, if there’s a good, easy way to cleanly get the oil out without going to all this trouble, we’d go that path rather than get our engine off its mounts to screw the modified oil drain nut on…

Suggestions…?
