Put a dam across the hinge openings on the side facing the door. The dam both provides a larger surface for the door seal to press against, and eliminates water pouring into the cabin when the seal is deflated if there is residual water in the hinge recess. I believe the front dam can be almost full height, but the rear dam needs to be a bit lower due to interference with the hinge nuts. I replaced the nuts for the hinge that were directly above the dam with low profile nuts to allow a higher dam.
