I would love to see of those pics of your door frame.=20 I need to learn how to do this type of work. For my first project I am goin= g to start by reinforcing my nose wheel fairing from the inside, then re-do t= he leg fairings and move on from there. Rather it's the door= frame around the perimeter. Get inside and close the door. Using flashlig= ht examine the gap all the way around. Use a black marker pen or other devic= e to mark and write on the door frame where it is too far away and how much.= Then open the door and I used tongue depressors hot glued on the outside o= f the door seat to create a dam and a form for micro buildup. I sanded thes= e tongue depressors to what I thought was the correct height. Then I mixed a= fairly thick batch of micro and applied it to the sanded and cleaned door f= rame. After set, I started sanding and shaping and trial fitting by gently c= losing the door and finding where the seal would touch the layup. Eventuall= y I had the shape I wanted and then I laid up one BiD of carbon fiber over t= he top held down with peel ply. Job complete after lightly sanding the peel= ply surface roughness. >=20 > John Barrett > Sent from my iPad >=20 >=20 >> On Nov 6, 2013, at 7:30 AM, George Wehrung wrote: >>=20 >> I take it that when you modified the shape of the door you are talking th= e outside or the inside where the seal attaches? >>=20 >> I will take pics, going to hangar to drop off some stuff >>=20 >>=20 >>=20 >>=20 >>> On Nov 6, 2013, at 7:25 AM, John Barrett <2thman1@gmail.com> wrote: >>>=20 >>> Take a look at the space around the door frame when closed and no door s= eal pressure.
