I hear you and would agree, but the problem is that sometimes a $50.00 solu=
tion has unintended consequences.  Surrounding ourselves with additional co=
mplexity while at first is appealing, in many instances isn't a good soluti=
on.   I find that surrounding myself with safety ropes and other risk-limit=
ing devices can sometimes just get in the way, and I'm not personally convi=
nced that there is a real problem here.  People of hurt and killed themselv=
es for any number of reasons.   Just be careful out there, I just think the=
 current design is just fine.

Drama or not, I'm more for reducing the accident rate concerning the people=
 who actually fly than getting them acquainted with Mr. Darwin.

This isn't a big deal to me.   I don't think drama surrounding the canopy i=
s needed or deserved.

It has been shown that while tricky, the airplane is controllable if you ha=
ppen to leave the canopy open.  Just don't stop flying the airplane.  Bette=
r yet, don't leave it unlocked.
