I have the old Esco front strut on my 360. I have heard there have been problems with this strut. My question is, can it be fixed or do I have to replace it with the new one from Lancair. ($1,100.00 bummer)

I experienced two mild instances of shimmy during my early flights
three years ago. By that time, the strut was already eight years old and I
felt that it was due for an overhaul anyway. I returned it to Esco and had
them overhaul and repaint it, installing the latest shimmy dampening
modification and the "self-centering" mechanisim. It took four to five weeks
and the total cost (including shipping) was about $ 600. It was like new,
for half the price of a new strut.
