Sounds good in theory but not practical in a 320/360.  There's really no way to avoid the sun.

I had the same issue with the ipad and the stratus.  I just keep both out of the direct sun and have not had any problems.

Subject: [LML] iPad overheated & quit!

I was threading the needle into the Detroit area (see picture) when my iPad (using ForeFlight) displayed a message that it was shutting down due to high temperature.  The pinkish line is my flight path and where the dark red line crosses it just below that building is about where it quit.  It wasn’t critical at that point because I was very close to my destination (KVLL).  Plus I have a Garmin 430W, but it spooked me.  That was a first for me.  Have any of you experienced this treat in a critical flight regime?  What did you do?
