Chris,

When we had a RV6 with a carbureted Lycoming O-360-A1A, Claudette flew it about 8 min to a nearby airport.  She had done a long taxi, the usual runup and pattern at the destination.  It was about 50 degrees with just a little thin cloud.  Everything was normal until short final.  The engine popped a few times, she landed and the prop stopped on roll out.  It had never done that before or since in 1300 hours.  She had not used carb heat and the engine re-started easily.  I replaced the barely effective Heat Muff from Van’s with a much larger and more effective one, especially when used.
