I have had some experience with Ipad using ForeFlight.

I elected to add a DUAL blue tooth gps receiver (Dual is the brand name) which has helped the position accuracy.

One caution - my Ipad (Ipad4 with GPS), if used in the case (clamshell case) it gets so hot it turns itself off. It also is hot enough, it is VERY uncomfortable to try to hold

 

I got a ram mount that I clamped onto a handle in the cockpit. That seems to have helped re cooling, but still can NOT use while in a case.
