Ceramic coating of exhaust between the cylinder and the turbine is not permitted, since the turbine inlet temperature would exceed the maximum allowed temperature.   It is ok to coat the exhaust pipes from the turbine.

Hi All,
I had a very good cooling results on my other Lancair IO360 with ceramic coting of the inside and the outside of my exhaust.
I fly in South Africa where the outside temperatures are 100F and above .

I have an opportunity to do the same on my Lancair 4 TSIO550 Twin turbo 350hp.

Did any of you do that , do you think its a good idea

Regards Hans
