-running and cloud dodging in Skyhawks.  When I moved up to Bonanzas, I rea=
lized this is stupid in fast cross country planes, so I got the IFR rating.=
  Lancairs are all fast and can fly through several weather systems in no t=
ime.  Plus, they are slick and can get you in trouble quickly if not level.=
  I believe we should exert MAXIMUM pressure on fellow Lancair pilots to ge=
t IFR ratings.  These birds are not suited for amateur pilots, and the stat=
s show it.  PS about VFR on top.  Many times I have encountered unexpected =
weather and asked Center for a Pop-up clearance.  They always respond quick=
