FYI, when I was building my LNC2, I had one of my springs break also, after only 50 gear or so gear retract/extend cycles. This was when Lancair first came out with this option. I spoke to the Lancair people about this and they have sinced modified the springs and I have NOT had a problem with them so far. Total time now is 140 hours!
I do believe that the original springs DID exhibit a stronger pull vs. the rat trap ones...
