Pine: I bought those springs too, a couple of years ago - also because I
didn't like the looks of the dual screen-door springs (not because they've
ever given me any trouble when replaced when they get sorta corroded
looking) but before I had a chance to do the installation, a friend who had
installed them had one break! don't know if Lancair has solved the problem
with breaking springs, but it was enough to make me put the new ones away
and keep the old dual over-center springs. Yeah, they look a bit bad - but
they work fine. So in keeping with one of my carefully observed maxims, "if
it ain't broke, don't fix it"!

As I've said before, ad nauseum: You pays your money and you takes your
chances!
