(my bones however remind me that it is never to be forgotten!) As I recall, one of the reasons for using nitrogen in our shocks is to combat oil foaming and consequent inaccurate shock valving action that accompanies same... Those wishing to use pressurized air in place of nitrogen should check the advisability of using "non-detergent" oil in their shocks which is (was) inherently more foaming resisant. This may be a non issue for those that operate off of perfectly smoothe pavement at all times, as the foaming action takes a couple of strokes to really get going. However, be advised that any kind of "rippled" pavement will heat that shock oil up in a hurry. I would personally recommend a discussion of this matter w/ the KONI shock people before any changes are made to your recommended procedures. Build and fly safely.....warm regards to all...Jeffrey B.
