I have the same
situation. On my 4P,
Chelton, Sorcerer, the autopilot is also rock solid in AP mode but
hunts, or wing wiggles, in GPSS mode.

I flew an
autopilot coupled approach on Sat. using both the Chelton and the
GNS430W in GPSS +V mode in an ES. No wiggles in any mode. A
portion was done in heading mode prior to the descent while on radar
vectors.
