I was
always concerned about the fairly long un-supported runs on the two
tailpipes, especially this one.  Clark Baker

I was also a little concerned about the pipes being unsupported and
that it could cause overstressing near the flanges. I decided that the
situation was improved by clamping the two pipes together, just ahead of the
extensions. I used a stainless hose clamp and high-temperature cloth (as a
cushion between the pipes and between the exhaust pipe and hose clamp).
