Use a FAT format, and the card must be 128 MB or smaller. It will not work with the larger (newer) cards. BTW, good luck in finding these. On-line has been my best source.

Gents, when formatting SmartMedia cards prior to initial use to do Chelton database updates, which file system / format do you recommend:

 

    NTFS

   FAT

   exFat?
