Here’s another  little irritating event in what seems to be a pattern.

Got re-registration notice for my IVP in late December or early January.  Sent check for $5.00 plus the form on January 14th (made a copy and dated it for the day sent).  Thought no more about it until late May when a notice came from FAA – Final notice: Expiration of aircraft registration.  It was dated May 1.  Checked my bank records to find that the FAA had cashed my $5.00 check electronically.  I asked my bank for photo copy  of the check and they can’t produce due to electronic transfer.

I called FAA twice.  Do you think I might have spent a bit of wasted time on the phone waiting???  First person was totally unhelpful.  Basically she could have said “screw you” and it wouldn’t have been less helpful or pleasant.  Second person tried to help.  Said to send in whatever I had in the way of proof.  I did so (the bank statement showing the electronic transfer to the FAA of $5) along with another copy of the form and on June 18 they sent me a letter indicating they’d received a registration form with no payment and they found no record of having received a payment so I had until July 1 to make the payment.

Sent the attached with another $5 check.  Sent it registered mail confirmation etc etc.  That cost another $12.

Anybody else have them lose stuff and lay it all back on you?
