My IO360 powered Lancair 360 would run very roughly on taxi following a flight or a restart prior to the engine having time to cool down.  As we have moved into the hotter time of the year the issue had become increasingly worse.  All of my fuel lines are double insulated as an attempt to keep them from being exposed to heat.  My gascolator is also insulated.  When I described this condition on LML I received many responses with the lion share suggesting that I try to provide some cooling to my engine driven fuel pump and gascolator.  One post suggested I order a cooling shroud for my engine driven pump from Spruce.  I installed the pump shroud, punched a 1" hole in the rear pilot side metal baffling, installed a 1" flange and ran 1" scat to the shroud.  That simple change proved to eliminate my engine surge.

Clearly the fuel in the engine driven pump was getting hot and vaporizing introducing air into the system.  By providing some cool air to the pump the temperature was reduced enough to eliminate that vaporization.

I hope this helps.
