Following is a message I normally send to folks who send HUGE pictures
with messages to the LML. The approval queue is presently filling up with messages that do not follow the guidelines. Rather than sending
this to a bunch of times to a bunch of individuals it seems more logical to once again simply bring it up to everyone everybody knows what's going
on. This is covered in the Users Guide on the LML website, JIC you're wondering where it came from.
""" As discussed countless times
on the LML, photos intended for posting
with LML messages should be no larger than 1024x768 pixels and their individual file
sizes should not exceed 150-200k... apx 100kb file sizes are preferred
and easily achieved by making them into JPG images set to a quality
level of
60-70. If you haven't done so already, please go to www.irfanview.com
and get the
IrfanView program, then use it to resize your images before sending them to
the LML. The program is exceedingly simple to use and makes photo resizing
and renaming tasks completely painless by allowing you to modify photos
individually or en masse through its powerful, yet easily understood, batch
processing module which can be found in its "File" menu . Once you have
resized your photos you are welcome to resubmit them to the LML for posting to
the membership. Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your participation. """
In the future any message containing photos larger than 1024x768
pixels
or with individual filesizes greater than 250k (this is the absolute
max filesize) is simply going to be deleted and not passed along. Thanks for your cooperation.
