I guess you could -- land on a flat main sock but carefully? I use a small hand pump to put very high pressure air into my bike shock and automotive racing shocks. The air pressure is in the 200 to 250 psi range, and the pump can go higher. It isn't nitrogen, but it works in a pinch. This little hand pump weighs about 6 ounces, and came with my mountain bike. I may just carry a spare in the plane. I also have a modified nitrogen regulator for long-term fills. Maybe Timothy Ong can address this problem for the list's benefit?
