For those of you who didn't make it to OSH,

Lancair had a Legacy kit (SN #3) on display.  It was not a super fast build 
kit.  

1. The wings are fully built and have the fuel tank sealer on, nav antenna 
installed, slosh doors installed, bellcranks installed, fuel cap installed, 
ailerons built with hinges and trim tab installed, flaps built, access 
openings molded in place with nutplates installed, doors made.  Closing is 
done with the top skin however, no sanding was done.

2.  The belly pan has the spars installed, gear hardware installed, hard 
point installed and drilled, door openings molded in, console made, etc. No 
sanding was done.

3.  The fuselage has the firewall installed, bulkheads installed, gear tunnel 
installed, etc.  No sanding was done.

4.  The vertical stab and rudder have the ribs installed, hinge installed, 
trim tab built, etc.  No sanding was done.

5.  Horizontal stab and rudder built with hinges installed and trim tab, but 
not affixed to fuselage for shipping purposes.  No sanding was done.

6.  The moldings are beautiful, no sanding was done.

I spent 1/3 of my 320 standard kit build time sanding.  Since I will be 
spending 94.5% of the Legacy build time sanding, that is where I can 
customize the airplane.

No, it is not a super fast build kit, it's a warp-speed build kit.  I am 
going out to Redmond to close the wings in the builder assist program -- 
since that will take a half day, I will be partying the rest of the week.
