The one thing to think about though is that you have= to apply current to the coil to turn it off. I've had some experience with antique vehicles so I imagine the lacquer o= n the windings and insulation materials would still be good- I'm curious ab= out the resistance readings. I have a very basic education from studying Th= e AeroElectric Connection 15 years ago so I hope to learn more. I'm guessing the Leach has more windings of finer wire. Would that make i= t more likely to overheat than the Lancair unit? Does it suggest anything a= bout the intended applications?
