This location places it just below the co-pilot/passengers legs and it's unnoticable there. It's mounted to the spar using 10-32 stainless CS screws and a 1" square phenolic base potted to the spar with Hysol so as to form studs on the spar face. It should be mounted as low as possible, allowing just enough room underneath for carpeting. This is a good, servicable forward location.
