I have that problem if I fill too close to full and then the tanks heat up.  As the fuel expands it will run out of the vents and down the underside of the wing toward the landing gear.  This of course will stain the paint if not cleaned up soon.  I think it has to do with where the top of the tube for the vent is located inside the wing.  Should have been set really close to the top wing skin while still not touching the skin.  If it is down a couple of inches will probably allow fuel to over flow out of the vent.  Now, maybe the experts will chime in with the real answer if I am wrong.

Subject: [LML] Legacy fuel vent check valves.

I am concerned that the fuel vent check valves may be installed backwards or are leaking.  The fuel tanks seem to vent ok and I have not seen any problems along those lines, but fuel runs out of the vents in the wing tips any time I get much over a half to three quarters of a tank.

Anyone else having this problem or have advice?
