iPad is great with Foreflight. Probably great with WingXPro also. I prefer
the Dual GPS instead of the Bad Elf. Same price - More convenient. Blue
tooth unattached to iPad - just put it on your dash. However, you could
spend a little extra cash to buy the 3G iPad and then not spend $100 on the
GPS. Then you can be georeferenced I think even without a internet
subscription. Hope others will chime in here. Not sure of this.
For any IFR actual, I'm concerned about where your backup instruments are.
Don't know the cheapest road to GPS WAAS capability, but I just upgraded my
Beech Sierra to a GNS 430W and am very pleased with it. Cost $10K all in
and I got some bargain pricing. Not cheap but nice to have the old airplane
upgraded to current technology.

1 - I'm thinking an IPad 2 (or 3) wi-fi only, and Bad Elf.
Is anybody doing this?
Kind of complex to decide, as things are changing fast.
2 - What's the least expensive way to equip for IFR GPS approaches?
Attached is what I have so far.
