| Interesting, I've used up my trial on Foreflight so I started using Fltplan.com's iPad app and it has (free) planning, filing, maps, sectionals, lo/hi, gps tracking and more. I used it exclusively for 6 trips last week although I admit we pulled a chart out trying to determine the routing from San Diego into Santa Monica (IFR). Anyway, for free, I'd give it a whirl just to compare. I will try WingsX for comparison too.
And, if you want a fun and useful app, try this app which tracks routes, reports positions and provides maps and all sorts of useful stuff. On my last motorcycle trip here it sent out hourly position report, stops, max speed, altitude and more. On the last Lancair flight from Dallas to Calgary it reported on the ATT network every hour (in flight) to a select list of recipients via email. For $2.99 this is a great app for the ipad/iPhone that has use in the cockpit too.
