Hi guys,

I hate to be a squeaky wheel, but recently I find that I'm spending an inordinate amount of time cleaning up posts prior to approving them for release to the LML.  In particular, it seems that many of you quote back the entirety of the message to which you're replying, including even the message headers and footers, stuff that the listserver automatically attaches to every post that's sent.  This means that everyone is going to have to look past all that duplicated material, not to mention re-read a post that they've usually seen within the last few hours, or the last day at most.  I understand that some of us have short memories, but generally it is enough to identify the post to which you're replying by inserting its subject into your subject header.  If you really want to focus your reply, the use of a small quoteback (a sentence or two) should be enough to provide a reminder of what your post is referring to.  Please stop quoting the "Lancair Mail List" title from the top of the post, and the links to the LML website and LML Builders' Bookstore from the bottom.  I realize this means that you might have to edit your post a little bit, but it only takes a second or two to eliminate that unnecessary content from your end.  When done from my end I have to log onto the LML management website, call up the post in question, call up the editor, edit the post, resubmit it and then approve it.  When it's aleady done, however, I can just approve it through my normal email management system and that's that.  It might not sound like a big deal, but if you multiply it by 5 or more posts per day, over the course of weeks and months it adds up to a considerable amount of wasted time.  That doesn't include the wasted bandwidth to send the same thing over and over again, or the wasted space it takes to store all that extraneous (duplicated) information in the archives.  Please take a look at your posts before hitting that "send" button, and make sure that the information is pertinent and necessary.  Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated.
