It couldn't be moved by hand when off of the airplane. We ordered a replacement from Vern. The new cylinder is not a Matco and has a 5/16" longer throw than the old one. Even with the rod end screwed down all the it's too long at full extension. Its also too long when retracted but I think that I can fix that by shortening the spacer. I haven't opened up the cylinder yet. Thought I'd ask you guys for advice first. So, the questions are: Is there a way to limit or adjust the maximum extended length of the shaft? If so, any hints or advice on opening up the cylinder? Does Matco rebuild old cylinders? If I could fix the old one I wouldn't have to worry about adjusting length. Thanks guys, I knew I could count on you.
