Of course, my concern is that after spending an anal amount of
time blending in the flap trailing edge to the fuselage fillet, in
flight experience might require an adjustment up or down...thus causing all
this "blending time" to be wasted.

So, I'm wondering how sensitive are these flaps to small rigging
adjustments of perhaps a 1/2 turn on a rod end bearing? <<

Angier Ames,

1/2 turn on a flap rod end will go a loooong ways towards trimming a roll
rate off due to construction asymmetry.  This is of course, good news and
bad news. The good news is that it is not hard to correct a residual roll
rate that is nearly inevitable with our hand-built aircraft.  Even a fairly
hefty one (roll rate that is).  The bad news is the wing root fairings will
no longer be a perfect match.  For that matter, you may want to then adjust
one or both ailerons so they again match the flaps. And THEN, you may want
to re-work one or both wingtips to get a match there as well.

Still, the wing root fairings and wing tips are just fairings after all.
Getting everything aligned will have a minor effect on cruise performance
and a perhaps bigger effect on aesthetics, but you can still defer the
fixes until boredom sets in the next winter when the weather restricts your
flying a bit.
