N493K is no longer a flyable lancair IV.  Descended from 10,500 feet to
about 5,700 feet with the engine near idle.  Made a 180 degree turn, then
applied power and there was none.  Had to dive under four sets of tall
high tension power lines to belly in a field at 4,250 feet.  The rudder
counter weight must have caught a line that tore off about 15 per cent of
the top of the rudder.

I believe I had about 50 seconds to make decisions and land.  In time I
will probably have a number of goodies, including the $5,000 leather
interior, for sale.  Irronically I had just that morning update the
KLN90B data base.
