I purchased new bearings = from Lancair and had a shop install them. The shop said that they were = still to tight. They sent them to a machine shop and had a few thousands = milled off of the bearings. They also put in grease fittings. Since the change, I have never had to replace the nose gear strut (3 = replacements prior). When I do a free fall, the nose gear is the first = to lock.
