First flight was in the capable hands of John Cook. Three flights to date now with only small non-critical issues. Since I have an experimental 14qt oil pan, I was given 40hrs in phase 1. She has an IO-550N with tuned pipes and an overhaul by Pacific Continental. Nothing special under the cowl, just a straight forward Continental engine. Chiavetta speed mods from the firewall aft along with a nose wheel close out box. No speed runs yet but indicated airspeeds are impressive. Also running a three blade fully feathering Hartzell prop with a custom cowl. Larger Turbo oil cooler with a 15 degree tilt (box) off the back of the baffling. Also has a remotely mounted oil filter. Oil temp has not been a problem yet but it is still cool here. I'm hoping that oil temp in the hot southeastern summer will not be an issue. If anyone is passing through Atlanta PDK airport please look me up so we can talk Lancair.
