try 22+k for a propjet for 500k hull.  this was the quote i received
from chartis to renew in jan 2010.  it jumped from 15k the year before. 
no claims/no incidents.  current hpat training and over 100 hrs m/m.  i
decided to go liability only for $3800/yr.  this has gone up to 4400/yr
when i renewed last month.  i didn't ask for a full coverage quote this
year.  when it jumped to 22k i tried to find another market/agency and
since chartis was the only one writing propjet insurance it really
didn't make a difference who the agent was.  if anyone finds anything
different please let me know.

obviously, i fully appreciate the efforts of jeff and the other great
folks at LOBO as well as pete's efforts with HP-AT.  it appears that the
accident rates are down but not the insurance rates.  almost as bad as
malpractice rates for physicians!-in some ways, perhaps worse!  i wonder
if many of the "good risk" pilots have self selected themselves out of
the insurance pool by self insuring or going liability only.  the
insurance issue appears to be one of the reasons why the lancair resale
value is so bad.  try building one for the prices being advertised!  and
who knows what they are actually selling for-if they sell.

but still the lancairs are the coolest, most amazing toy a guy could
have!

Attached is a quote from AOPA for my IVP, a cool $12.7k.  This for a
guy with 1500 hours retract/hi perf, no incidents, Commercial - Multi
Engine - Instrument with current HPAT training.

Sure glad I paid for the HPAT training, but now I can't afford the
insurance!

I would say, at $12.7k, they count on me crashing.
