I have a MT Propeller that is due for 6 years control.

However since it is a experimental a/c may I inspect the prop myself.
Or will I need someone else with certification to do ?
When I was a owner of a Kitfox we did all inspection.

Roger,

I assume you have one of the MT constant speed propellers--you didn't specify. These are significantly more complex than the fixed or ground-adjustable prop on your KitFox. While you are probably legal to "inspect" it yourself, I would strongly recommend against it. Unless you have or have access to a propeller shop, it's unlikely you'll have the tools or skills to adequately inspect a constant speed prop.

MT has a US propeller shop at DeLand, FL that is equipped to inspect, overhaul and replace components as needed. Contact Juergen Zahner or Sarah Denton there at Juergen.zahner@mt-propellerusa.com, (386) 736-7762.

They will have the equipment to inspect for bearing wear, run-out, delamination and other maladies that affect these props over time. Airplane repairs are never cheap, but this is a good area to invest in security of your airplane investment...and your life!
