Aircraft Spruce #2525. Then if the Schrader valve leaks, it won't give you a flat. The plastic caps that come with the tubes don't last very long. Bob Belshe Moraga, CA Lancair 235/320 http://home.comcast.net/~rbelshe/ -----Original Message----- From: Lancair Mailing List [mailto:lml@lancaironline.net] On Behalf Of Lorn H Olsen Sent: Thursday, January 06, 2011 8:13 PM To: lml@lancaironline.net Subject: [LML] Re: LNC2 Tires revisited I went south to Saint Simons Island, Ga on Tuesday, 12/28/10. On Friday, 12/31/10, while preflighting I noticed that the right main tire was at 25 psi rather than the 70 psi that I had when I took off last time. My prior flat was on the left main. The right main has been on and OK and nitrogen filled for the last 8 to 12 months. Before pulling the wheel, the mechanic, who just so happened to have a new bag of them, suggested that I try changing the Schrader valve. I changed the valve on Friday, 12/31/10. Today, after flying back to Detroit, and 2 landings, the tire still has full pressure. I am so happy that I didn't have to change the tire prematurely. Although always suggested, I have never seen a Schrader valve go bad at mid tire life. From now on, I will be carrying a couple of spare Schrader valves, just in case. Lorn
