On Friday, = 12/31/10, while preflighting I noticed that the right main tire was at = 25 psi rather than the 70 psi that I had when I took off last time. My prior flat was on the left main. The right main has been on and OK = and nitrogen filled for the last 8 to 12 months. Before pulling the wheel, the mechanic, who just so happened to have a = new bag of them, suggested that I try changing the Schrader valve. I changed the valve on Friday, 12/31/10. Today, after flying back to = Detroit, and 2 landings, the tire still has full pressure. I am so happy = that I didn't have to change the tire prematurely. Although always suggested, I have never seen a Schrader valve go bad at = mid tire life. =46rom now on, I will be carrying a couple of spare = Schrader valves, just in case.
