Try turning off every nonessential electrical item except the GPS and be
very careful during the test.  Something unlikely could be interfering with
the GPS signal.  An experienced avionics guy told me an unpowered ELT antenna was feeding
back to a com intermittently on some frequencies and Cessna took a long time
